The cardboard structure was built with hot glue and tape and i not finished yet because i wanted to make an eating space but didn't have enough time.

Bryce 5.5 Model Of My Skyscraper

This is my Bryce 5.5 model of my skyscraper. My influences were the World Trade Center and the Petronas Towers. The building is suppose to be an office building and I knocked down NDHS to make it. It is located between Ludlow st., Essex st., Grand st., and Broome st. It is made out of steel and metal grids. There will be stores and reseraunts on the top of the base of the structure meant for public and employee use. The Cardboard Model is incomplete and it is suppose to be taller but I was limited to a certain height and was unable to finish. I wasn't able to put a picture of my Bryce Model.

Frank Gehry Monumental

Monumental Works

The Gehry Tower is one of the monumental works Frank Gehry created. Also one his great works is the Chicago Millennium Park. I like the Chicago Millennium Park because it looks unique and cool, and then there is the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The Walt Disney Concert Hall is probably one of Frank Gehry’s most familiar works. The reason this is true is because it’s in DisneyLand and DisneyLand is popular in California. The entire building is made out of metal. The reason why people go there is because not only is it a beautiful structure, but also people perform orchestras in there.

Liptick Building

The Lipstick building was made in 1986 by architects John Burgee and Phillip Johnson. The building was 453 feet (138 meters) in the air there is 34 floors. The building was made out of granite and had the colors red and grey. The circular motion on the building makes it more interesting it's mostly a bunch of circles. The red in the building that represented the Lipstick building gave more of a hint of what it was. They could've put more outside features.

The Grace Building

The Grace Building was made in 1971 by the architect Gordan Bunshaft. It is 630 ft (192 meters) with 50 floors same as the Metropolitan Life Insurance building. The design was by Deloitte and Touche in which they used travertine. The color of this structure was a mix between black and white. The thing that's fascinating is the fact that the building slopes like a slide which I find is interesting. When I first saw this building the shape was unusal for a building and i don't even know what that shapes called. The shape was a special feature to me, but it needs more stand out features it was a very interesting building.

United Nations Sculptures

The "Knotted Gun" also known as "Non-Violence" is one of the various sculptures feature at the United Nations Building. The "Knotted Gun" was a gift from the government of Luxembourg and was first reveiled at the U.N. in 1988. A bronze replica of a 45 calibre revolver with the barrel of the gun tied in a "Knot" hence the "Knotted Gun" nickname. The gun was first sculpted in 1980 as a peace symbol and was created by artist Karl Fredrick Reutersward, The Sculpture is Located at the Visitors Plaza. When I first saw the "Knotted Gun" I saw a symbol of peace, a gun with its barrel tied in a knot which would stop the bullet from coming out, so there would be no gunshot...hence the "Non-Violence" nickname. I thought it was an amazing sculpture that not only looked good but it says something, it represents something. An Image of a "Knotted Gun" is basically saying "Stop The Violence".

The Chrysler Building

The Chrysler Building was built on October 23,1928. The architect was William Van Allen. The building is astonshing at 1,047 (318.9 meters) with 77 floors. It was the biggest building at one point in Manhatten. The structure was Art Deco which they built the building with stainless steel. The building exterior color design is silver and bronze. The most fascinating thing other then the height was the eagle sticking out on the top they also used replicas from the building on the famous Chrysler car. The eagle has has to be the thing that might stick out the most on the building. I would change the material to a stronger structure you could get. The Chyrsler building is one of the most looked at buildings in the world.

The United Nations Headquarters

The United Nations Headquarters is where all the countries send their ambassadors to negotiate problems, the war, etc. The building was completed in 1950 shortly after World War 2. The Architect was Wallace Harrison, who designed the U.N. to be over 285 ft. tall, 38 stories. The art style he used for the building was called "Scheme 23A". The U.N. was made with Vermont marble.
The color of the building is grayish-white on the sides and on the front and back the color was black and green. The United Nations building feature the flags of the many countries who send their ambassadors to the United Nations building. The flags is the best feature because, when you see ayour country's flag you feel one of the following things: Happy, Proud, Patriotic, and a Civilized Society. If I could change anythig it would be the color of the building, I would make the United Nations building all black because I think it would look better.

The Flat Iron Building

The Flat Iron Building was completed in 1917. It is 22 Stories or 285 ft.(87 m) The architects were Two men from Chicago, Daniel Burnham and John Wellborn Root. Both Architects decided to use Beaux-Arts for the design of the Flat Iron Building. Constructed with a Steel Skeleton and grayish-brown bricks, The Flat Iron Building soon became the Symbol Of New York City.Personally I like the statues at the top of the building because I think that those statues(I might be wrong)are replicas of both of the architects.I think the statues should have been a little bit bigger so people can see it more. The Flat Iron was The symbol of New York City for a very short time, pretty soon buildings like The Chrysler Building or The Empire State would have taken its place for symbol of New York. So far The Flat Iron Building seems to be almost forgotten. The World Trade Center Was New York's Symbol but now it's the Empire State again because of 9/11.The Flat Iron Building is still a historical landmark to this day.

Metropolitan Life Insurance Tower

The Metropolitan life Insurance Tower was completed in 1909. The architect was Harvey Wiley Corbett. It was the tallest building for a long time at 700 feet and (213 meters) it had 50 floors. The designer used the ecole des beaux -style it was also noticed that at one point they used Marble and then Limestone later on. The buildings color is a mix between gray, green, white, and Gold. They had a clock in the center of the building which is were the Green comes in. I like the top because the gold color stands out on the building. The colors are nice because when you put them together on the building it looks better and it stands out more.

Building Big paragraphs

The film "Building Big" was a documentary about skyscrapers. It showed how people used towers for a safe haven/protection to using towers/skyscrapers to represent a country or city as a cultral landmark. From old to modern, stone to skeletal construction, this shows the "Evolution" of skyscrapers. The reason for a skyscraper today is: 1) landmark, 2) symbol, 3) save space. By Dario

Building Big paragraphs

The movie Building Big was about skyscrapers and how they were built. They used the elevators to put luggage on it. It was not strong enough to hold people. They built skyscrapers for landmarks, symbols, and to save space. The skeltal structure was to help it become stronger. They had glass boxes at first because it was cheaper instead of steel that's why they called it Internatinal style. By Jake
